Mike has an extensive background in the insurance industry, having
worked in the Claim Departments of Liberty Mutual Group and CIGNA
and with the Complex Claim Unit and Excess Liability Claim
Department of American International Group.
Mike is a Martindale-Hubbell AV rated attorney and a member of the
Defense Research Institute (DRI).
He practices in all areas of civil litigation, with a concentration
on insurance defense matters and insurance coverage disputes.
He is also an administrative hearing officer for the Idaho State
Police regarding liquor licensing and related matters.
Mike is a 1980 graduate of the Virginia Military Institute and a
1989 graduate of Pace University School of Law in New York. He was
admitted to practice in New York in 1989.
In 1993, Mike was admitted to practice before Idaho’s state and
federal courts.
In 2002, Mike was admitted to practice in both the state and federal
courts in Oregon.
Mike has spent most of his free time coaching youth hockey, baseball
and softball.
He has also been the Risk Manager for USA Hockey in Idaho, past
President of the Idaho Amateur Ice Foundation, a non-profit
organization which provides scholarships to youth in need wishing to
participate in local ice hockey and figure skating programs.
He is on the Board of Directors of the West Boise Little League
program and volunteers his time at the local VA hospital.
